Project HOPE


Project HOPE is a Hunts Point-based employment and training center that assists individuals with employment resources and provides employers with access to qualified vetted candidates.   A not-for-profit affiliate of GHPEDC, Project HOPE’s approach to workforce development is market-driven and responsive to meeting the employment and training needs of both job seekers and employers.   Project HOPE provides:  

  • career planning and job search
  • basic and advanced resume writing
  • interview skills and job placement
  • High School equivalency certification
  • English as a Second Language
  • referrals for health care and health insurance   

Project HOPE also provides OSHA safety training, a key qualification for many opportunities in the industrial job market. The OSHA program enhances a worker’s knowledge and proficiency in the identification of existing and predictable hazards in the work environment and the necessary controls to eliminate or minimize those hazards.  Project HOPE coordinates an annual job fair with the participation of many local employers, including the Hunts Point Terminal Market, the largest food market in the U.S.
