HUNTS POINT CLEAN TUCKS IS NOW NYC CLEAN TRUCKS!
CLEANER TRUCKS FOR A GREENER SOUTH BRONX!
The NYC Clean Trucks Program started in Hunts Point and Port Morris in 2012 and in 2020 expanded to all five boroughs. This is a NYC Department of Transportation initiative that helps businesses upgrade their truck fleets to newer, cleaner diesel, CNG, hybrid and electric vehicles and Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) that will have drastically lower levels of harmful substances emitted from engine exhausts.
Clean Trucks helps to make the South Bronx a cleaner, healthier place for local resident AND workers. As of September 2021, Clean Trucks has distributed more than $18.8 million in incentives to help fund the replacement of 619 older diesel trucks. for the Beverage, Produce, Meat, Seafood, Leasing, Commercial Carrier, Waste/Recycling and Moving/Storage industries.
